Jarmy Earns MIAA Offensive Player of the Week Honor FREELAND, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s midfielder Jenn Jarmy its Offensive Player of the Week in women’s soccer for games played through October 18. Christmas at Loretto to Ring in 2014 Christmas Season The South Bend Chamber Singers, an ensemble-in-residence at Saint Mary’s College, is proud to present Christmas at Loretto as part of its 26th concert season. The annual event will take place at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto on the Saint Mary’s campus on Sunday, December 21, at 7:30 p.m. Purchasing tickets ahead of time is encouraged. This is a popular holiday event. On Quests to Document Stories of Women and Girls (South Bend Tribune) Two communication studies/gender and women studies research projects now underway here seek out the voices of area women and girls, and you don’t have to be a Saint Mary’s student to take part. One is an oral history project about female leaders in South Bend's history. The other project is an interview/qualitative data component to the next Status of Girls in Indiana report that faculty and students are currently working on. "Dance Arts 2014: Live, Love, Dance," Feb. 6-8 The Saint Mary’s College Dance Ensemble Workshop is proud to present Dance Arts 2014: Live, Love, Dance, Thursday, Feb. 6 through Saturday, Feb. 8. Dance Arts is an annual event that showcases new works by local artists performed by students. The performances will take place in O’Laughlin Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. each night with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8. Alumnae Return to Campus for Reunion (Fox 28) Alumnae are returning to Saint Mary's College this weekend for their Annual Reunion Weekend. This years reunion welcomes more than 1,000 former students. Beth Johnson and Jennifer Hogan, Class of 1994, became life friends at their first day of first-year student registration. They are still friends to this day. "Attending Saint Mary's is the best experience of our lives," Hogan said. "We didn't know how our lives were going to change, and these friendships we've made, and education we received. It's just made us who we are." Green, Hussey Earn All-MIAA Accolades FREELAND, Mich. - For the third consecutive season, multiple members of the Saint Mary's soccer team earned All-MIAA recognition for their efforts on the field. Saint Mary's Hosts Day of Math and Science (South Bend Tribune) Dozens of middle school girls came to a women’s college earlier this month to shadow students majoring in subjects like math, computer science, chemistry, engineering and biology. It was Hypatia Day at Saint Mary’s College, named for female mathematician Hypatia of Greece. Born long ago in A.D. 370, Hypatia knew something these girls may be figuring out: Math and science are for girls, too. Media relations intern Anna Sullivan '14 wrote the article. College celebrates Heritage Week (The Observer) Heritage Week is a time for Saint Mary's students to reflect on the rich tradition of the College. One of the most important figures in Saint Mary's history is Sister Madeleva Wolff, the longest sitting president. In her 27 years (1934-1961) as president, she put those gifts to good use leading Saint Mary’s to national prominence as a premier Catholic liberal arts college.
