Green, Hussey Earn All-MIAA Accolades

FREELAND, Mich. - For the third consecutive season, multiple members of the Saint Mary's soccer team earned All-MIAA recognition for their efforts on the field. Kerry Green was tabbed as an All-MIAA First Team selection while fellow center back Mary Kate Hussey earned a spot on the All-MIAA Second Team.

kerry green Mary Kate Hussey MIAA all team soccerGreen becomes just the second player in program history to be named to the All-MIAA First Team in three of her four seasons, joining Jen Concannon '05 as the only other player to do so. Hussey, meanwhile, garnered her third all-conference selection as she has been named to the second team twice (2012, 2014) and the first team once (2013). The pair helped forge a Saint Mary's defensive effort which tied for the fourth-fewest goals allowed in conference play in 2014.

On the other end of the field, both Green and Hussey contributed to the Belles' offense this fall. Green scored the game-tying goal in a 1-1 double overtime tie at Adrian in September before picking up a pair of assists in the Belles' dramatic 3-2 win at Alma in October. Hussey had a goal in a 2-1 loss at home against Kalamazoo early in the season and scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory at home in October against Calvin.

It is the eighth time in program history that multiple Belles have earned All-MIAA honors at the conclusion of the season as voted upon by conference coaches. Moreover, it is the fourteenth consecutive season that at least one member of the Saint Mary's soccer team has been named to either the conference's first or second team.
