February 21, 2021 Saint Mary’s Carries on with Winter Walk For more than two decades, students at Saint Mary’s have traveled to downtown South Bend in February to participate in the annual St. Margaret’s House Winter Walk. This year, when the organization switched to a virtual event due to the ongoing pandemic, Saint Mary’s rallied and created a self-contained walk on campus so students, faculty, and staff could carry on with their support. January 28, 2021 Embody Spotlight: Grace Verdun ‘24 As a sixth grader, Grace Verdun ‘24 caught her first taste of the beauty of Saint Mary’s College while playing violin at the wedding of her principal’s daughter in Holy Spirit Chapel in Le Mans Hall. She revisited that very chapel on her first day at Embody Theology Institute in the summer of 2019 as a rising high school senior. January 26, 2021 Engaging Embody From A Distance Each year for the past five years, Embody has welcomed between 30 and 60 young women from around the country to campus for a week-long experience including theological lectures, prayer and worship, and community service opportunities—not to mention bonding time with their peers and college student mentors! For summer 2020, Embody welcomed the engagement of 23 high school girls from around the country who participated virtually. January 20, 2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Saint Mary’s On Monday, January 18, Saint Mary’s held its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Organized through the President’s Council on Inclusivity and Multicultural Diversity (PCIMD), the 25-minute virtual ceremony honored the legacy of Dr. King and his impact on the College, the community, and the world.
