Belles Fall to Flying Dutch

HOLLAND, Mich. - Hope scored a pair of second-half goals to hand the Saint Mary's soccer team a 2-0 defeat on Thursday evening.

The Belles put three of their four first-half shots on goal but were unable to convert any of those chances. Chanler Rosenbaum, meanwhile, turned away Hope's two on-goal shots in the first half to keep the game tied 0-0 at the half.

The Flying Dutch would break that tie 15 minutes into the second half with a header goal from inside the box. The Flying Dutch added their second goal in the 79th minute of the game with another shot from inside the box. For the game, Hope out-shot Saint Mary's 22-5, but the difference in shots on-goal was just 8-3 in favor of the Flying Dutch.

Kelly Wilson and Ashley Morfin both notched a pair of shots for the Belles.

Chanler Rosenbaum tallied six saves in goal for Saint Mary's in the loss.

The Belles (7-5, 3-5 MIAA) will continue their stretch of four consecutive away contests when they travel to Olivet on Saturday for a noon tilt against the Comets.
