Belles Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Saint Mary's College soccer team was one of 498 NCAA Division I, II, and III and NAIA women's teams to earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.

It is the seventh consecutive season the program has earned the academic distinction.

In order to be recognized by the NSCAA, a team must post a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.

Saint Mary's had a 3.25 cumulative GPA for the 2011-12 academic year. The Belles were one of four MIAA women's teams to be recognized for their academic achievements over that same period with the other honorees being Alma, Hope, and Olivet.

A total of 719 college soccer teams (221 men, 498 women) earned the NSCAA's Team Academic Award. For the complete list, visit the NSCAA website here.
