Belles Unable to Generate Offense Against Scots

ALMA, Mich. - The Saint Mary's soccer team was unable to get things going on the offensive end in a 6-0 loss to Alma on Saturday afternoon.

The Scots jumped on the scoreboard with goals in both the 5th and 12th minutes. Alma added two more goals before the halftime break for a 4-0 lead through 45 minutes of play.

Cedella Breitenstein had the Belles' best scoring chance of the first half. The freshman ripped a shot on goal with 13 seconds remaining in the period only to see the effort saved as the game sat at 4-0 through 45 minutes of play.

Host Alma added goals in the 56th minute and 61st minute to gain the 6-0 advantage.

Thallia Robles made six saves in goal for Saint Mary's while shouldering the goalkeeping loss. Hannah Fisher added a save over the final 26-plus minutes of play.

The Belles (1-5, 0-4 MIAA) return home to host Hope on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.
