Kellen Hinchey cut off a deflected pass by the North Park defense in the middle of the offensive end. The junior played a ball quickly to the left for Sophie Bubnar. Bubnar took a touch before playing the ball ahead for Rose Stackhouse. Stackhouse then flicked a pass over a defender for Bubnar to run onto in the middle of the field, and the forward again shielded a defender before firing a shot between the goalkeeper and the post from 15 yards out to make it a 2-2 score in the 31st minute. Delaney Rohlman came up with four saves over the final 11 minutes of the period as the game stood at 2-2 at the halftime break.

A short while later, Stackhouse sent a shot just wide. The pressure continued in the 56th minut with Lexi Trombly having an effort blocked by a defender. Stackhouse then had a shot saved just a few seconds later.
