Belles Take Two More Wins

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Saint Mary's softball team added two more wins to their record by defeating Lasell 13-1 in five innings and edging New Jersey City 4-3.

Against the Lasers, three Belles tallied multiple hits in the win. Lauren Enayati started off what proved to be a good day at the plate with a 3-for-4 effort at the dish with a double and two runs scored. Kristen Nelson and Emily Sherwood each added a pair of singles in the win. Nelson scored twice and Sherwood had a sacrifice hit and scored a run.

Morgan Bedan reached base three times with a single, a walk, and was hit by a pitch and scored all three times for the Belles. Callie Selner drove in a pair and scored a run with a single and a sacrifice fly while Kate Mitchell added a single and scored a run in the win.

Monica Palicki picked up the win in the circle as she allowed only five singles, struck out three, and surrendered an unearned run in five innings of work.

In their 4-3 win against the Gothic Knights, Enayati led the way by going 4-for-4 with a run scored while stealing a base. Jordie Wasserman added a 2-for-2 effort with a sac fly, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI. Angela Gillis went 2-for-4 in the win with an RBI, and Morgan Bedan hit a double, scored a run, and drove in a run for the Belles.

Callie Selner earned the pitching victory, allowing two earned runs on one hit while walking three and striking out two.

The Belles (7-1) will wrap up their ten-game trip to Florida on Thursday when they compete against Salem State at 9:00 a.m. and face off against the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City for a second time at 11:00 a.m.
