CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The Saint Mary's softball team suffered a 2-0 loss to Bridgewater State and an 8-0 setback against Kenyon on their annual spring break trip to Florida.

In the opening game, Callie Selner surrendered just two runs on three hits with five strikeouts over six innings of work while suffering the loss in the circle. The Belles' offense, however, could not find an answer to offset the two-run deficit. Angela Dainelli and Jillian Busfield each singled for Saint Mary's, but the Belles were unable to push a run across.

Against Kenyon, the game was scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when Kenyon plated a two-out run for the 1-0 lead. The Ladies pushed six runs across in the bottom of the fourth and ended the game in the sixth with their eighth run of the contest. Victoria Connelly hit a double, and Selner added a single for the Belles.

Sarah Burke was dealt the loss in the circle, throwing 5.1 innings and striking out a pair.

The Belles (0-2) return to play tomorrow when they take on Ohio Wesleyan and Franklin & Marshall at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., respectively.
