LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three members of the 2013 Saint Mary's softball team earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for their academic performance last year.
Sarah Burke, Sarah Callis, and Victoria Connelly were among the numerous honorees at the NCAA Division III level to earn the academic distinction. It was the second consecutive season for Connelly to be named an All-America Scholar-Athlete.
Over 4,000 softball student-athletes from across seven different divisions have been tabbed as 2012-13 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes, the Association announced on Monday.
The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2012-13 academic year.
