Selner Named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Alma shortstop Erin Rodes its Position Player of the Week and Saint Mary’s righthander Callie Selner its Pitcher of the Week for games played through March 30.

Selner, a junior from Elkhart, Ind. (Memorial HS), threw a six-hitter in pitching Saint Mary’s to a 5-1 victory over Defiance, Ohio, helping the Belles sweep that doubleheader. She struck out seven batters and walked two. She also went 4-for-5 at the plate and scored four runs during the sweep.

The game-one win in the circle also gave the junior pitcher her 30th career victory, which puts her in second place all-time in program history for career wins. On the season, she leads the team in hits, RBIs, total bases, and batting average while boasting a 0.29 earned run average in the circle.

Selner is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time in her career.
