Thirteen Belles Named as Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 2017-18 Saint Mary's softball team had 13 of its members garner Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors.

The 13 Belles were part of the membership-leading 1,600 NCAA Division III student-athletes who earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2017-18.

Jill Ackermann, Jessica Alberts, Makenzie Duncan, Mary Green, Alyssa Gutierrez, Krystal Harris, Kelsey Keilman, Megan Knudsen, Morgan Raymer, Kelsey Richards, Sydney Swartz, Bridget Sweeney, and Cassie Young made up the largest single-year group of Saint Mary's softball players ever to earn the NFCA academic distinction.

The Saint Mary's student-athletes joined 69 other softball players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association as honorees for the academic year.

Individually, 6,280 softball players earned Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors across seven membership divisions - NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III; NAIA; Junior College; High School (unweighted); and High School (weighted).
