Belles Finish Sixth at Woehnker Invitational

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Saint Mary's swimming and diving team finished sixth at the 2012 Woehnker Invitational hosted by Wabash College with a team score of 130.

Carthage won the two-day invitational with a team score of 730.5 while Division II University of Indianapolis was second with 647 points.

Ellie Watson and Genevieve Spittler had the best individual finishes for the Belles on Saturday. Watson took eighth place in the 500 freestyle in 5:29.62 while Spittler claimed eighth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:31.89. Watson also added an 11th place finish in the 200 free with a 2:02.50. Spittler, meanwhile, had a 13th place finish in the 200 backstroke with a 2:35.18 finish for the Belles.

The Belles' 200 free relay combination of Anna Nolan, Megan Knobloch, Carolyn Neville, and Ellie Watson took seventh in the final event of the meet with a 1:44.65 for Saint Mary's.

The team will be in action in two weeks at the Calvin Invitational, which takes place November 29 through December 1.
