Faller Named to All-MIAA First Team
ROYAL OAK, Mich. - Saint Mary's junior tennis player Mary Catherine Faller was named to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association all-conference first team as selected by league coaches.
A junior from Green Bay, Wisconsin, she played each of the team's 18 matches at number one singles and number one doubles. In a big 5-4 conference win over Alma, Faller provided a big boost to the team with a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win in her number one singles contest. She was 5-3 in conference matches in doubles play on the year while posting a 3-5 singles record at the top flight while helping Saint Mary's finish in a tie for fourth place in conference standings.
With her All-MIAA First Team honor last spring, she becomes the sixth player in program history to earn multiple first-team conference honors. Additionally, at least one member of the Saint Mary's tennis team has been tabbed as either a First Team or Second Team All-MIAA honoree each year since 1998.
