Belles Ground Cardinals

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - For the eighth consecutive season, the Saint Mary's tennis team has won at least 10 matches as the Belles picked up a 6-3 win over North Central College to reach double digit wins on Monday afternoon.

Jackie Kjolhede and Audrey Kiefer earned an 8-1 win at number three doubles, and Mary Catherine Faller and Kayle Sexton won an 8-4 match at number one doubles to give Saint Mary's the 2-1 advantage.

In singles play, the Belles won four of six flights to secure the 6-3 team victory. Mary Catherine Faller lost just one game on her way to a 6-0, 6-1 at number one singles. Margaret Faller and Shannon Elliott each lost only two games for wins. Faller was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at number six singles, and Elliott claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at number three singles. Jackie Kjolhede rounded out the Saint Mary's win with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at number five singles.

The Belles (10-6) look to finish strong in conference play with two MIAA matches remaining. The first of those two matches is Wednesday as Saint Mary's travels to Calvin for a 4:00 p.m. match.
