Belles Tame Bulldogs

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Saint Mary's tennis team earned an 8-1 MIAA win over Adrian on Tuesday evening.

Saint Mary's set the tone early with victories in all three doubles flights. Mary Catherine Faller and Kayle Sexton were 8-1 winners in the one doubles flight, and Andrea Fetters and Margaret Faller followed with an 8-2 decision at three doubles. Shannon Elliott and Audrey Kiefer made it a sweep of the doubles flights with an 8-3 victory at two doubles.

Mary Catherine Faller put Saint Mary's a win away from clinching the victory with a 6-0, 6-0 decision at one singles. Kayle Sexton gave the Belles their clinching fifth win through five completed flights with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at two singles.

Andrea Fetters was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at five singles, Shannon Elliott earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at four singles, and Audrey Kiefer took a 6-3, 6-0 victory at six singles to give the Belles eight out of nine flights. Jackie Kjolhede lost a tough 6-2, 6-1 match at three singles on the night.

The Belles (9-5, 4-1 MIAA) return home to host Hope for a conference match on Thursday, April 17 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
