Belles Streak Snapped by Knights

• Monica Davy claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at two singles for the Belles.
• Sam Setterblad was stopped short in a 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-2) final at three singles.
• Maddie Minaudo outlasted her opponent in a 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 1-0 (10-1) win at five singles.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saint Mary's tennis team had their hopes of a four-match winning streak stopped in a 7-2 setback against Calvin on Saturday afternoon.

Sam Setterblad and Monica Davy suffered an 8-4 setback at one doubles. Andrea Fetters and Kaity Venters ended on the wrong side of an 8-5 final at three doubles. Maddie Minaudo and Margaret Faller went to a tiebreaker for their two doubles match up, but the pair were stopped 7-3 in a tiebreaker.

Monica Davy was the first flight done and claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at two singles for the Belles. Margaret Faller ended on the short side of a 6-0, 6-1 final at four singles, and Andrea Fetters kept right with her counterpart in the opening set before falling 6-4, 6-0 at one singles. Sam Setterblad went to a tiebreaker for her match at three singles but was stopped short in a 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-2) final. Elizabeth Preister lost by the minimum in each of her sets in a 6-4, 6-4 final at six singles. Maddie Minaudo outlasted her opponent in a 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 1-0 (10-1) win at five singles to round out the match.

Alaina Anderson and Abbi Fleming picked up an 8-3 exhibition win at four doubles. Kaity Venters fell in an 8-1 exhibition seven singles match, and Kaelin Schillinger lost an 8-4 exhibition singles match on the day.

The Belles (11-5, 2-2 MIAA) travel to Adrian on Wednesday, April 20 for a 4:00 p.m. conference match against the Bulldogs.
