FREELAND, Mich. - Maddie Minaudo earned the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women’s tennis Player of the Week award on Monday for matches through March 13.

Minaudo, a sophomore from South Bend, Ind., went undefeated at 8-0 during the Belles’ spring break trip to Florida last week with four wins apiece in both singles and doubles. At No. 5 singles, she won each match in straight sets and never surrendered more than five games in a match.

At No. 2 doubles, Minaudo and partner Margaret Faller also cruised to four straight victories. The duo did not allow opposing tandems to score more than four games per contest.

The victories improved Minaudo’s record to 8-0 on the year in doubles and moved her singles record to 6-1 this season.

The MIAA Player of the Week honor is the first of her career. Additionally, she is the first student-athlete for tennis program to earn the conference's player of the week honor. The MIAA began the award in the 2011 season.
