Belles Victorious Against YellowJackets

WACO, Texas - The Saint Mary's tennis team concluded the competitive stretch of their spring break trip to Texas with a decisive 7-2 win over LeTourneau on Wednesday.

The Belles took a 3-0 lead through the completion of doubles play against the YellowJackets. Maddie Minaudo and Lilly Chamberlin made quick work of their counterparts in an 8-3 win at two doubles. Megan and Monica Davy teamed up for an 8-6 decision at one doubles, and Kelsey Kopf and Lily Brandt added a matching 8-6 win at the three doubles flight for Saint Mary's.

Chamberlin and Minaudo clinched the team victory for Saint Mary's with their singles wins. Chamberlin took a 6-0, 6-1 win at five singles, and Minaudo nearly mirrored her doubles partner's win with a 6-1, 6-0 decision at four singles to clinch the team win. Elizabeth Preister added a 6-2, 6-1 win at the six singles flight. Kelsey Kopf fell in a 6-3, 6-4 final at three singles. Megan Davy out-dueled her opponent at two singles in a 6-2, 7-5 win. Monica Davy had a 6-3, 6-3 setback at one singles.

In exhibition play, Preister and Nicole Becker had an 8-2 win at four doubles while Lily Brandt played to a 6-0, 6-2 win at seven singles.

Next up for the Belles (4-3) is a home match on Thursday, March 22 against Spring Arbor.
