Brink Named MIAA Specialty Player of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s setter Danie Brink its Specialty Player of the Week for matches played through September 24.

Brink, a junior from Muskegon (Fruitport HS), dished out 114 assists (9.5 per set) and added 35 digs (2.9 per set) as the Belles won three of four matches for the week. She had 35 assists and 16 digs in a four-set MIAA win over Trine, and added 39 assists and 11 digs as Saint Mary’s swept Adrian. Brink is being honored as Specialty Player of the Week for the second time in her career.

Over the weekend, she also notched her 2,000th career assist. Brink became just the fourth player in program history to eclipse 2,000 career assists.
