Belles Bounce Comets for First MIAA Win of Season

OLIVET, Mich. - Allison Zandarski hit .500 with 10 kills to lead the Saint Mary's volleyball team to their first MIAA win of the year by a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-22) margin.
The Belles hit .500 as a team in the opening set with 13 kills and two errors on 20 attempts. The Comets, meanwhile, hit -.154 with six kills and 10 errors on 26 attempts.
Saint Mary's had an upper hand in hitting overall on the night as the Belles had a .215 attack percentage on the night to the Comets' .000 hitting efforts.
Allison Zandarski had match-highs in kills with 10 and blocks with six. Kati Schneider and Stephanie Bodien each added seven kills for the Belles. Danie Brink had a match-high 26 assists while Schneider chipped in three aces. Meghann Rose, meanwhile, had a team-best 12 digs.
The Belles (2-5, 1-2 MIAA) return home to host Alma on Wednesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Angela Athletic Facility.
