Hecklinski Earns MIAA Player of the Week Honor

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - Saint Mary’s outside hitter Katie Hecklinski was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Position Player of the Week in volleyball for matches played through October 6.

Hecklinski, a sophomore from South Bend, Ind. (St. Joseph HS), pounded 47 kills and added 64 digs as Saint Mary’s won two of three MIAA matches. She had 14 kills, 25 digs and three blocks in a four-set win over Kalamazoo and 17 kills, 23 digs and two service aces in a five-set loss against Adrian.

Hecklinski is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
