ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s outside hitter Kati Schneider its Player of the Week in volleyball for matches played through September 15.
Schneider, a junior from East Sparta, Ohio (Canton South HS), tied an MIAA record for kills in a match with 31, had a .453 hitting percentage and added 13 digs in leading the Belles to a four-set victory over Olivet. She also had 18 kills and 13 digs in a pair of weekend matches at Wheaton, Ill., as she extended her streak of consecutive double-doubles (double figures in kills and digs) to five straight matches.
Schneider is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and third time in her career.
