Todd Named MIAA Specialty Player of the Week

FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary’s defensive specialist McKenzie Todd and Alma outside hitter Hannah Guilford garnered Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Volleyball Player of the Week Awards on Monday for matches through Oct. 4.

Todd, a sophomore from Monroe, Michigan, claimed the Specialty Player of the Week Award. The Belles’ libero won Wheaton All-Tournament Team honors last weekend after leading all liberos at the tournament with 5.38 digs per set. Todd opened the week with a career high 24 digs in a 3-2 win over Adrian on Wednesday. Two days later she broke that newly established record by digging 26 attacks against No. 12 Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She completed the five-match week with 94 digs, eight service aces and four assists.

It is the first time in her career she has been recognized as an MIAA Player of the Week.
