Belles Earn Pair of Wins at Millikin

DECATUR, Ill. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team defeated Webster in a 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18) final at Millikin before taking on Rose-Hulman later in the evening. The result of the Rose-Hulman match was not available at the time of reporting.

In the opening match against Webster, the Belles posted a .258 attack percentage en route to the four-set victory. Meaghan Gibbons led Saint Mary's with 16 kills to go along with seven digs. Katie Hecklinski was a dig away from a double-double with 12 kills and a team-best nine digs. Colleen Kilgallon registered 10 kills and three blocks. Alexis Grady added 24 assists, and Clare McMillan posted 23 assists in the win.

Against Rose-Hulman, Katie Hecklinski led the Saint Mary's side with 15 kills to go along with 14 digs as the Belles posted a .250 attack percentage. Meaghan Gibbons added nine kills and 13 digs, and McKenzie Todd tallied 14 digs. Clare McMillan had 22 assists, and Alexis Grady had 14 assists in the win. Leah Buck and Colleen Kilgallon each had a solo block and three block assists.

The matches were part of a two-day tournament hosted by Millikin. At the conclusion of the tournament, Katie Hecklinski and Meaghan Gibbons were both named to the all-tournament team for their performances.

The Belles (7-3) return home to host conference foe Kalamazoo on Tuesday, September 22 starting at 7:00 p.m.
