NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team posted their fourth consecutive 3-0 win of the season with a 25-22, 25-13, 25-13 win over Alma in MIAA action on Tuesday night.

The Belles claimed a 4-1 lead early in the first set before the Scots came back to make it a 7-5 score a short while later. Saint Mary's responded with the next two points as Alma called a timeout to try to stop a big run. The Belles continued to gradually add to their lead and built a 20-14 advantage against the Scots. Alma fought back to make it a 22-21 score with back-to-back blocks, but Saint Mary's held steady down the stretch and closed out the first set with a kill by Alexis Grady and a block by Grady and Leah Buck for the 25-22 win.

That late push gave the Belles a lot of momentum going into the second set, and Saint Mary's capitalized on that energy to get out to a 15-8 lead. A 5-0 run later in the set saw that advantage balloon to 21-11 as Saint Mary's made quick work of the second set in a 25-13 final.

The success for Saint Mary's continued to grow while the Belles took advantage of miscues by the Scots to gain a 9-3 lead early in the third set. Alma pulled within two points of Saint Mary's at 10-8 and 11-9, but the Belles rattled off a 7-1 run to mount an 18-10 lead. That margin was insurmountable for the Scots as the Belles closed out the sweep with a 25-13 final in the third set.
