Make a difference in people’s lives through your work as a leader for social justice. Whether you pursue a master’s degree—like 98 percent of Saint Mary’s social work graduates—or enter the work force immediately after graduation, you will be prepared to meet the emerging needs of society.

Our Department of Social Work and Gerontology graduates are child welfare specialists, clinical social workers, a director of marketing, therapists, and social workers at organizations and institutions like Barnes-Jewish Hospital (St. Louis), Central Indiana Council on Aging, Real Services, Inc., and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Social work majors have pursued advanced degrees at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Washington University (St. Louis) George Warren School of Social Work, and the University of Illinois Jane Addams School of Social Work, the University of Chicago, and the University of Pennsylvania.
