Jamie Bump

Jamie L. Bump DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, CPHQ, is a certified family nurse practitioner (FNP) as well as a adult-gerontologic acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) who has a current clinical practice in hospital medicine. She is a business owner of a medical spa practice in Northwest Indiana. She is also a certified practitioner in healthcare quality and has previous leadership experience in quality and patient safety. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Valparaiso University. After working in the acute setting with primarily older adults, she decided to complete a certification alignment program focusing on geriatric patients in the acute setting at Duke University. Dr. Bump has previously presented her work in quality and performance improvement. Her research interests include developing diagnostic reasoning in nurse practitioners utilizing simulation and other teaching strategies to develop competency-based education for FNP students. She also has research interest in improving patient safety by reducing diagnostic error and incorporating interdisciplinary team dynamics. Dr. Bump has extensive experience in managing geriatric patients who come from the community and residential centers with complications related to their chronic disease states and collaborates with other providers and clinicians in ensuring safe and effective management across the continuum of care.
