The Madeleva Society was founded in 1979 to honor Sister M. Madeleva Wolff, C.S.C., who served as president of Saint Mary's College from 1934 to 1961. She led Saint Mary's to national prominence as a Catholic women’s college offering a rigorous, value-centered education in the liberal arts tradition. As a tribute to this remarkable woman, The Madeleva Society honors those whose gifts demonstrate outstanding annual commitment to Saint Mary's tradition of educational excellence.
Gifts from Society members provide scholarships for students, support faculty-student research projects, expand and preserve our campus, fund immersion learning experiences, and more.
The Madeleva Society Recognition Levels
You take a leadership role when you become a member of The Madeleva Society, demonstrating your belief in our mission and ensuring the future of the College. Membership is based on your total giving to all areas of the College within the fiscal year from June 1 to May 31.

To honor the philanthropic spirit behind our most recent graduates’ giving, Saint Mary’s has revised its Young Madeleva Society membership levels for Belles of the Last Decade (BOLD). Starting in the 2013-2014 academic year, the Young Madeleva Society membership levels for BOLD alumnae will be based on the number of years since their graduation.
First year out: $100
Second year out: $200
Third year out: $300
Fourth year out: $400
Fifth year out: $500
Sixth year out: $600
Seventh year out: $700
Eighth year out: $800
