On-Campus Interview Policies and Procedures
The Career Crossings Office at Saint Mary’s College offers on-campus interviews as a service to students and alumnae to support them in their efforts to obtain internships and employment. Any eligible student, alumna or employer may participate in the on-campus interview process. The Career Crossings Office ensures to the best of its ability that students, alumnae and employers adhere to the ethical and legal recruitment standards and principles.
Right to Refuse: The Career Crossings Office reserves the right to refuse the on-campus interview service to students, alumnae or employers.
Only direct hiring organizations, seeking candidates for internships and full-time employment (requiring a degree) may conduct scheduled on-campus interviews.
The Career Crossings Office does not establish the hiring qualifications for the employer.

Employers may choose an open and/or pre-select interview schedule. An open interview schedule allows students and alumnae to sign-up for designated interview time slots prior to being screened by the employer. A pre-select interview schedule allows the employer to screen and review candidates’ résumés and select which candidates they would like to interview.
The Career Crossings Office, through the online Go BELLES system, will allow those candidates with matching qualifications to apply for and schedule an on-campus interview with the employer.
On-campus interviews are conducted in the Career Crossings Office, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for official College holidays. Exceptions can be made to accommodate for different interview times and locations upon the request of the employer.
Employers having any “upfront” fees, training or product purchases must disclose this in the job/internship description prior to the interview.
Employers must note if the internship for which they are hiring is unpaid and/or may have optional credit in the description, prior to the interview.
Generally, the Career Crossings Office can only accommodate one employer per day for on-campus interviews and up to three (3) separate schedules. Interview dates and schedules are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Schedule Changes and Cancellations
Changes to an on-campus interview schedule, positions, etc., made after deadlines are difficult to communicate to students and may adversely affect the turnout for your visit. If a change needs to be made, please contact the Career Crossings Office as soon as possible. Changes cannot be made within 48 hours of the recruiting date. If an on-campus interview needs to be cancelled, it must be made no less than 48 hours in advance. A cancellation made less than 48 hours prior to the on-campus interview date will be subject to a cancellation fee of $25 per scheduled student or if the employer does not show up on the interview day.
To register for on-campus interviews,employers will need to download the On-Campus Interviewing Form. Completed forms along with a complete job description of the position(s) your organization will be interviewing for should be sent to the Career Crossings Office via mail, fax or e-mail at:

Once the completed form and job description(s) has been received and processed, the employer will be contacted by the Career Crossings Office to confirm the recruiting date. The Career Crossings Office will create an interview schedule in the Go BELLES system, which will allow employers to track and manage their on-campus interviews. Employers will be able to review candidates’ résumés, accept or decline candidates and review interview schedules.
