Beeler Earns First Team All-MIAA as Belles Take Fifth

ALBION, Mich. - Brittany Beeler continued to lead the way for the Belles as the Saint Mary's cross country team took fifth place at the MIAA Championship race on Saturday.

Hope won the race and the conference title with a team score of 33. Calvin was second with a 45 team score. Alma (112) and Trine (113) were third and fourth, respectively. The Belles posted a team score of 130 to finish ten points ahead of Albion.

Brittany Beeler ran a 22:36.7 and took fourth place individually. With her placement, the senior became the second Saint Mary's runner to earn First Team All-MIAA honors multiple times in a career. Moreover, she is the first runner for the Belles ever to earn three All-MIAA accolades (one second team, two first team).

Anna McClowry turned in a 24:28.1 and finished 31st overall while earning 25 points toward the team score. Adele Edmonds beat out a runner from Albion by two and a half seconds to place 40th overall in 24:54.5, which gave the team 31 points. Kaitlyn Alessi edged out another Albion runner by two seconds to place 44th overall and earn 34 points with a 24:59.8. Katie Glenn added to the streak of Belles passing Brits at the finish with a 25:10.7 to finish a second ahead of an Albion runner for 46th place overall and 36 points.

Maura Honan finished 53rd overall with a time of 25:21.7. Mary Philbin and Caitlin Blum finished back-to-back with times of 25:36.8 and 25:37.3 for 58th and 59th places, respectively. Reilly Pieri was 64th overall after finishing in 25:47.7.

Colleen Ogren ran a 26:04.5 to place 70th, and Kathryn Marshall was 73rd after crossing the finish line in 26:20.3. Maggie Pacana and Jen Kreighbaum posted consecutive finishes for the Belles with time of 26:27.6 (76th) and 26:38.2 (77th). Fiona Winfrey had a 27:00.2 to place 86th, and Emily Harrast posted a 27:03.3 for 89th. Mary Favo placed 99th with a time of 27:44.4. Sarah Allen rounded out the Belles' performances with a 28:07.2 for 103rd.

Seven members of the team will compete in the NCAA Regional race on Saturday, November 12.
