FOREST GROVE, Ore. - The Saint Mary's lacrosse team put the final 12 goals on the scoreboard on their way to a commanding 21-3 win against Puget Sound at Pacific University on Sunday afternoon.

Daylight Savings Time and a three-hour difference from the Eastern Time Zone were no match for the Belles' offensive proficiency in their debut in the Portland area. Saint Mary's struck early and often as the Belles matched the most goals in a single contest in program history in the win.

Kendra Osinski put the Belles on the scoreboard 40 seconds into play. After the Loggers responded with a goal of their own on the next possession, Saint Mary's needed just 13 seconds to regain the lead. Kate Kelly won the draw, Hanna Makowski fed a pass to Osinski, and the sophomore sent home her second goal in as many shots for a 2-1 lead at the 28:53 mark. Erin Doyle scored back-to-back free position goals, and Osinski capped off a hat trick through the opening six minutes of play as the Belles established a 5-1 lead.

Puget Sound capitalized on a free position attempt of their own to break up the scoring run, but Saint Mary's was too strong on both ends of the field. Osinski netted her fourth goal, Clare Theisen added a free position goal, Erin Doyle sent home an unassisted effort, and Theisen followed suit with an unassisted strike to push the score to 9-2 in favor of the Belles. During that same stretch of play, Emily Kraker made a pair of saves on two free position shots by the Loggers while the defense forced Puget Sound into a possession clock violation.

After Theisen's second goal, the Loggers won the draw and scored a goal less than a minute later. The Belles responded yet again by winning the draw, extending the possession by winning the chase on a wide shot, and converting the possession into a goal by Clare Theisen with Doyle collecting an assist. Saint Mary's closed out the half with two more goals - one by Doyle and one by Theisen - to carry a 12-3 lead into the halftime break.

Hanna Makowski quickly extended the lead to ten with a free position goal with 28:17 on the clock in the second period. With the clock continuing to run due to the ten-goal differential, the Belles kept the offense going with eight more goals over the second half. Doyle, Osinski, Molly Stout, and Kate Kelly each had at least one goal. Defensively, Saint Mary's held Puget Sound to four shots over the final 30 minutes of play. Emily Kraker came up with saves on three of those attempts while the fourth sailed high.

The Belles out-shot the Loggers 41-14 in the contest and converted 7-of-10 free position shots to Puget Sound's 2-of-8.
