Saint Mary’s College Welcomes New College Editor

October 17, 2011 (Notre Dame, Ind.)—Saint Mary’s College is pleased to announce and welcome Heather Grennan Gary as college editor in the Integrated Marketing Communications department, an office within the College Relations division. She started in her position on October 3. Among her duties is serving as the editor of Courier, the Saint Mary’s College alumnae magazine.

Gary received her Bachelor of Arts from Santa Clara University as a philosophy and communication major. She went on to earn a Master of Theological Studies from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and she has a Master of Science in journalism from Northwestern University. Gary worked as an assistant, associate and contributing editor at U.S. Catholic magazine. More recently, she served as co-director for Goshen College’s Study-Service Term in Peru.

Karen McDonald, assistant vice president of Integrated Marketing Communications, is pleased to welcome Gary to her department. “Heather brings a breadth of experience relevant to this position,” said McDonald. “Along with a proven and varied experience as a writer and editor, she understands the faith-based foundation of Saint Mary’s as well as the world of higher education.”

“I’m delighted to join the Saint Mary’s community,” said Gary. “The College has such a vibrant tradition and such dynamic alumnae, faculty and students that I’m looking forward to putting my editing and writing skills to work here. I’m excited to help the community tell its story and further the college’s mission and message.”
