Aphasia the Movie to be Screened and Star to Speak at College
The Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at Saint Mary’s College is proud to present “Aphasia, the Movie,” part of The Carl McIntyre Aphasia Project, on Thursday, March 17 at 7 p.m. in Carroll Auditorium of Madeleva Hall. The 40-minute movie will be followed by a talk by Carl McIntyre, a successful actor, salesman, and teacher who had a massive stroke in 2005, leaving him with an acquired communication disorder called aphasia. The event is free and open to the public.

Belles Take Two Wins on Opening Day
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - The Saint Mary's softball team claimed an 11-2 win over Saint Joseph's (Maine) in five innings before defeating Bethany (W.Va.) by a 7-1 score on the opening day of their 2016 season on Sunday.

Fine Arts Camp for Children with Communication Disorders
This summer, Saint Mary's College will offer its first annual Character Central Fine Arts Camp for campers ages 10-15 with communication disorders.

11th Annual Dance Marathon Scheduled for Saturday, March 19
On Saturday, March 19, more than 300 college students will participate in the 11th annual Saint Mary’s College Dance Marathon (SMCDM). The 12-hour event, which starts at noon, has raised more than $700,000 for Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis since Saint Mary’s students brought the event to campus in 2005. The 2015 event raised $90,233.94 for clinical care and medical research at Indiana’s only nationally ranked and comprehensive children’s hospital.

Father Brian Davies, OP, is 2016 Aquinas Symposium Speaker
Saint Mary’s College is proud to announce that Father Brian Davies, O.P., Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Fordham University, is the speaker for the 2016 Symposium on St. Thomas Aquinas. The hour-long talk will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 7 p.m., in Rice Commons of the Student Center. A brief discussion and reception will follow the talk. The event is free and open to the public.

Knapke Earns All-MIAA Second Team Honor
FREELAND, Mich. - Senior forward Krista Knapke (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) was one of 12 women's basketball players to earn All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honors for the 2015-16 season, as announced by the league office today.
