September 11, 2013 SPARK and New SPARK-Art Entrepreneurial Programs Scheduled for Fall The Saint Mary’s College Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) is proud to announce that this fall it will host its fifth session of the SPARK entrepreneurship training program and a new SPARK-Art program for entrepreneurial artists. SPARK is intended to assist local under-resourced, high-potential entrepreneurs to “spark” or launch successful businesses. SPARK-Art is open to these women in addition to area college and graduate students. January 2, 2013 Student Boosts Girls' Self-esteem with "Girls' Club" (WSBT-TV) Sarah Hossfeld '15, a nursing major, started "Girls' Club" this summer at St. Margaret's House, a day center in South Bend. The girls, 8-14, did activities and participated in outings that boosted their self-esteem and challenged them to consider their futures after high school. The program was highlighted by WSBT-TV after the release of "The Status of Girls in Indiana 2013," a report compiled by Saint Mary's students and faculty about the well-being of girls in Indiana.
