Kyle Zimmer, CEO of First Book, Addresses Saint Mary’s College Gradu... Saint Mary’s College was proud to have had social entrepreneur Kyle Zimmer, president and CEO of First Book, as the 2013 Commencement Speaker at its 166th Commencement held on Saturday, May 18. Zimmer received an honorary doctor of humanities degree from the College at the ceremony. She addressed the Class of 2013, made up of 374 women from 33 states and one other country (Korea), with advice as they embark on their life’s work. Green Named All-Region KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Saint Mary's defender Kerry Green (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) was named to the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-Central Region Team. Students Assist at Home for Expectant Mothers (WSBT-TV) Hannah's House is a home for pregnant mothers who have nowhere to go, and students at Saint Mary's are working to help with the support and education the organization offers. It's an example of how students go Beyond the Campus to make a difference in the community. Last month some students who live in Le Mans Hall held a baby shower for a mom at Hannah's House. Degree Attainment Soars at Catholic Campuses Like Saint Mary's (ACCU) A new Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) report shows that students at Catholic colleges and universities enjoy more rapid baccalaureate degree completion than their peers in any other sector of higher education. Saint Mary's is highlighted as a college with innovative approaches to help students excel. The College recently unveiled its Four-year Graduation Promise. Starting with the Class of 2017, students who follow the Promise guidelines are guaranteed to graduate in four years or the College will pay for any additional courses the student needs to earn her degree.
