Belles Topped by Pair of Nationally-Ranked Foes

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-15) against No. 12 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater in the opening match of the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational before coming up short in a 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 29-27, 25-15) final against No. 19 Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday night.

Meaghan Gibbons led the Belles with 10 kills against the Warhawks. McKenzie Todd and Rachel Bonek each registered five kills. Todd had a team-high 16 digs, and Kaylin Szucs chipped in 13 digs. Alexis Grady tallied 23 assists.

The Belles held their own in their second match of the night against No. 19 Wisconsin - La Crosse before falling in four sets. Gibbons added 10 kills and 12 digs in the match. Bonek posted seven kills and five blocks. Grady added 27 assists to her total for the day. Szucs led the Belles with 16 digs, and Colleen Kilgallon registered five blocks

The Belles (7-9) face off against host and No. 23 ranked UW-Oshkosh at 10:00 a.m. CDT before taking on Dominican at 12:00 p.m. CDT on Saturday.
