Research

Our biology department offers research opportunities not often found at the undergraduate level, like:

  • Determining phenotypic plasticity in response to nitrogen impacts plant traits, and what effects those changes might have on pollinators and plant reproduction
  • Developing a paper analytical device to test for microbial contamination in water
  • Marjorie A. Neuhoff Summer Science Research Communities grant, awarded to a faculty/student pair in the sciences, to conduct their own research over the summer

Saint Mary's College has a strong reputation for developing women in the STEM fields.  Learn more how the Biology department fosters the development and success of women in STEM here.
