New Trustees Join Saint Mary’s College Board

On June 11, Saint Mary’s College welcomed seven new members to the Board of Trustees at the 2025 summer meeting. The new Trustees are Christina Calhoun Augustine ’96, Mollie Meehan Baumer ’90, David M. Jones, Candace L. Novak Sabers ’96, young alumna Trustee Princess Mae Dela Rosa Visconde ’18; and new student Trustee, Angelina Stupak ’26. The Board also welcomed new Trustee Sister Sharlet Ann Wagner, CSC, President of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, who began her term in January.

Sister Sharlet Ann Wagner, CSC was installed as president of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on September 8, 2024. Sister Sharlet has been serving as the executive director of the Newcomer Network of Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Washington, since 2020. The program assists immigrants with legal services and connects them to comprehensive supports. From 2014–2019, she served as first councilor of the Congregation’s General Administration and, from 2009–2014, as general secretary of the team. Prior ministries include her service as an immigration attorney and department director with Holy Cross Ministries, a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Congregation in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also worked as an immigration attorney with Central American Resource Center, served as a clinic worker in Uganda, and taught high school English and journalism in the US.

Christina Calhoun Augustine ’96 is a technology executive and advisor, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Bloomreach, an AI-powered platform that drives personalized online experiences for over 1,400 brands around the world. Augustine was named a 2023 Top 50 Women Leaders in SaaS and a 2024 finalist for the LA Times Inspirational Women Leadership in Technology & Software Award. She holds several patents in AI search and personalization and is an individual investor and advisor to a diverse set of generative AI startups. A 1996 alumna of Saint Mary’s College, Augustine graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science before earning an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2004. Beyond her professional work, Augustine is an active community leader, having served as a board member of Racing Hearts, which expands access to life-saving AEDs. She has also been involved in Girl Scouts and has provided strategic advisory services to nonprofits through Harvard Business School Community Partners.

Mollie Meehan Baumer ’90 is a mother and passionate volunteer who has dedicated much of her life to serving her family and her community. Raised in Palos Verdes, Baumer graduated from Saint Mary's College with a degree in Elementary Education.  After starting her family and raising three children, Baumer followed the model of her parish, American Martyrs, to live a life of volunteer service to enrich the lives of others. She has sat on the board of Friends of St. Lawrence Brindisi School for over 10 years and volunteered in countless capacities at American Martyrs. Baumer's commitment to Catholic education and youth development also led her to join the Board of Trustees at Loyola High School of Los Angeles, the Athletic Council for Student Athletes at the University of Notre Dame, and Saint Sebastian Sports Project serving the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Additionally, Baumer is involved with The Hesburgh Women of Impact at Notre Dame.

David M. Jones is the managing director at Merit Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on middle market companies. Jones earned an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago in 1994 and a BBA from the University of Notre Dame in 1988. Jones currently serves on the board of directors of AWC-MH Holdings, LLC, a fixed wing air ambulance company, and Sewer Equipment Co., a manufacturer of vacuum pump vehicles. Jones also sits on the advisory board of the Little Spanish-English School, an organization dedicated to improving the English language skills of Central American children and their parents (started by an alumnus of Notre Dame). Jones recently served as a board member of Camp Kesem, the largest national organization dedicated to supporting children impacted by a parent’s cancer, at no cost to families. Jones’s community activities included serving on several St. Mary Parish (Riverside, Illinois) committees, his local little league board (including coaching youth basketball, baseball and softball), and the board of the community ice rink, among others. Jones's only daughter, Ally, is a 2020 graduate of Saint Mary’s College.

Candace L. Novak Sabers ’96 received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Saint Mary’s College and a master’s degree in social administration from Case Western Reserve University.  She is the vice president of health policy and advocacy for the bi3 Fund, a philanthropic initiative in Greater Cincinnati that aims to transform health for all people. In this role, Sabers leads the development and implementation of bi3’s health policy agenda, which is focused on improving health outcomes in the Greater Cincinnati community. Sabers most recently served as Vice President of Government and Community Relations at UC Health, where she was responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s strategic approach to government relations and community outreach. With more than two decades of dedicated service to the children and families of Ohio, Sabers is a seasoned leader with a proven history of advancing critical initiatives that drive positive changes in the lives of vulnerable populations. Throughout her career, she has leveraged her deep expertise in public service, healthcare and community outreach to create lasting impacts in public and private healthcare sectors. Sabers completed the Harvard Executive Program "Driving Government Performance", was a member of Leadership Columbus, and recognized as a 40 Under 40 in Cincinnati.  She volunteers her time with a number of community organizations, including serving on the Board at Talbert House.

Princess Mae Dela Rosa Visconde ’18 is a program manager at Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) in Palo Alto, California. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Saint Mary’s and her master’s degree in Public Health, Health Policy, and Management at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. As a program manager at SCI, Visconde works with nonprofit, social justice, consumer advocate organizations, along with public and private-sector stakeholders. Since 2023, Visconde has served as caucus director for Asian & Pacific Islander Caucus for Public Health. She has served on the board of National Asian Pacific American Families Allied for Substance Awareness and Harm Reduction (NAPAFASA), an organization dedicated to mental health advocacy through research, public health and policy reform, and community empowerment through civic engagement. Visconde is an international leadership conference judge for HOSA – Future Health Professionals, a lifetime member of the Hawaiʻi Public Health Association, and a member and abstract reviewer for the American Public Health Association. She is a former fellow for the Asian Pacific American Women’s Leadership Institute, and an alumni of the LEAP Impact initiative. As a junior at Saint Mary’s, Visconde was awarded the Saint Catherine medal, and she received the Lumen Christi Award in 2018.

Angelina Stupak ’26 is a rising senior at Saint Mary’s College, studying Psychology and Sociology. Since 2024, Stupak has chaired the social concerns committee of the Student Government Association. In the coming academic year, she will serve as president of the Sociology Club as well as the Saint Mary’s chapter of PSI CHI, the international honor society for psychology students. She is a member of AKD, the Sociology Honors Club, and is currently an intern at the Institute for Ethics and the Common Good, assisting Dr. Bettina Spencer in cultivating a course title “Belonging.” Stupak is a student ambassador for the Office of Admission, a member of the Study Abroad peer advisory council, and an office assistant in the Global Education Office and a volunteer with St. Blase Church food drives.
