This weekend, Saint Mary’s College welcomes a massive first-year class to campus, one of the largest in decades. Numerous transfer students are also joining them. Planning to welcome this many new students to campus was months in the making, beginning with recruiting this group of talented and diverse women. Admissions, student government, and residence life are just some of the campus partners who worked tenaciously to bring this class to the College. We welcome our first-year and transfer students to the sisterhood of Saint Mary's College.
May marks Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time to raise awareness and educate others about AAPI culture. Avery Lazaro ’26 recognized the need for this kind of awareness at Saint Mary’s. “It has been my mission in leadership positions to spread awareness of our underrepresented communities on campus, and that includes AAPI,” Lazaro says. In 2024, she made good on that mission by launching the Asian American Pacific Islanders club on campus.
