A cast of 17 Saint Mary’s students will bring to life the story of magical beings that create dreams. In the play, the “Littlest” Dream-Giver struggles to heal the heart and haunted memory of a young boy named John. Littlest, who is full of love, empathy, and perception, has a delicate or gossamer touch in the giving of dreams. January 2, 2015 Social Work Majors Serve Community (South Bend Tribune) As seniors, social work majors spend each semester completing a field placement assignment, also known as a practicum, or a practical course of study. When the students are in their junior year, Leonard Sanchez, the Saint Mary’s field practicum coordinator, reviews the students’ specific interests and skills and interviews them. He then matches them to locations, such as schools, hospitals and nursing homes, where they work about 16 hours per week. The Saint Mary’s Student Diversity Board (SDB) celebrated its 10th annual Diverse Student Leadership Conference (DSLC) Monday with workshops, keynote speakers and panel discussions. SDB secretary Angela Bukur '16 said the speakers and workshop presenters offer powerful and insightful advice to women in leadership. “We are so fortunate to have them on campus to share their stories with us and open up conversations about topics that need to be changed within the world,” Bukur told The Observer.
