"Freedom Bound" to Be Presented This Weekend (Fox 28)
The Mad River Theater Works production of "Freedom Bound" will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. in O’Laughlin Auditorium. "Freedom Bound" is a musical play that transports the audience to pre-Civil war America and follows a slave, Addison White, as he escapes from slavery and embarks on a journey to freedom through the Underground Railroad. Interviewed are Richard Baxter, director of special events, and Jacquitta Martin '12.

Economics professor on lower interest rates (WSBT-TV)
If you are one of those Americans who doesn't own a home, now may be a good time to buy. That's because interest rates are so low, and the Federal Reserve announced last week, they would keep those rates low until at least 2014.
"On one side it is nice to have interest rates so low, but on the other side if people have the mind set they are going to stay low for a while, does that get people to not rush into something?" said Richard Measell, assistant professor of economics.
Measell says the Fed's decision to announce rates will be low until 2014 reinforces the fact that the economy is weak. which may also make people hesitate to spend money.
