Peggy Rodgers Taylor ’78

Peggy has left an impact as an RA, member of Parents Council, and service to the Alumnae Association.

Her Story

Peggy graduated Cum Laude in 1978 with a double major in Humanistic Studies and Communications.  She served as a Resident Advisor her junior and senior years and also was involved in the community, interning at WNDU her senior year.

Peggy’s first job out of college was in Human Resources. She credits Saint Mary’s for the critical thinking skills developed and confidence gained personally while at Saint Mary’s in helping her to navigate the corporate world. Peggy went on to gain 40 years of increasingly senior corporate HR positions. She is still working today, serving as Chief Administrative Officer for Immucor in Atlanta. Throughout Peggy’s career, she has been involved in women’s networks, mentor programs and other support systems for women in several corporations.

Outside of work, Peggy married and raised three children (one of whom graduated from Saint Mary’s, plus a daughter-in-law).  Women’s concerns remained important to Peggy. She was very involved in the Lake County, Il Council against Sexual Assault, including serving on the board for many years with a term as president. She has supported Saint Mary’s as a Madeleva donor and in an effort to give back, she visited campus often to put her HR skills to use, working on resumes with students, practicing interviews, and speaking on various topics.  While Peggy’s daughter was a student, she and her husband served on the Parents Council. She is now anxiously awaiting her start on the Alumnae Association Board of Directors, which will begin in June of this year.
