Saint Mary's to Celebrate 169th Commencement on Le Mans Green Saint Mary’s College will host its 169th Commencement at noon Saturday, May 14 on Le Mans Green in front of the iconic Le Mans Hall. There are 375 members of the Class of 2016, representing 31 states and four countries other than the U.S. (China, Japan, Jordan, and Myanmar). There are three valedictorians in the class, which is extraordinary and may be unprecedented. It is the last Commencement Carol Ann Mooney ’72 will take in as president. After 12 years at the helm, Mooney will retire on May 31. Multiethnic Graduation Celebration Address Delia Garcia ’93 gave the address at the 9th annual Multiethnic Graduation Celebration. Garcia is director of communications for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and serves on the College’s Board of Trustees. The Office of Multicultural Services and the Student Diversity Board hosts the event. Saint Mary’s Receives Bequest of More Than $6 Million for Angela Pro... Saint Mary’s College gratefully announces a gift of more than $6 million from the trust of Mary Lee Sheftic ’58. It is one of the largest bequests in the history of the College. Sheftic’s gift will endow a scholarship in her name and provide resources for the renovation and expansion of the Angela Athletic & Wellness Complex.
