Aubrey Houser

If Aubrey Houser ‘21 had to give any advice to prospective students, it would be “don’t limit yourself.” She certainly didn’t, and she’s come a long way because of it.

Student Profiles

Catherine "Kate" McMahon

Kate McMahon '18 is a scientist at heart but that doesn't mean her path was always clear to her. As a first-year student, she arrived at Saint Mary's as undeclared – thinking chemistry – but quickly fell in love with communication studies, business, and engineering as well. While her mom was never a fan of her considering other majors, Kate took the time to explore her options.

Madi Powell

Madeleine (Madi) Powell ’12 found herself at home in the chemistry department during her four years at Saint Mary’s. As a graduate of the Dual Degree Engineering program, she studied chemistry at Saint Mary’s and chemical engineering at Notre Dame (’13). Her career path has since led her through a technical engineering rotational program, and most recently to the role of Master Scheduler at GE Aviation.

Recognizing the Saint Mary’s Difference

Since graduating Madi sees the value in the way Belles are taught in the sciences and across disciplines.

Christina Robakowski

Christina Robakowski ‘11 graduated Saint Mary’s with a degree in chemistry, and a minor in math. She continued her education at Loyola University of Chicago, and received her master's in molecular pharmacology. Five years out, she’s back on campus teaching Chemistry

"I use my Saint Mary's education every day. Both in graduate school and now, I constantly have to think critically, problem solve, assume leadership roles, and mentor others. Saint Mary's not only gave me those skills, they gave me the confidence to use those skills in the real world."

Alumnae Profiles

Steph Smiy Miller

Steph Smiy Miller ’11 is confident her decision to attend Saint Mary’s more than nine years ago has shaped the person she is today. Recently she earned her master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from University of Kentucky and credits the skills and knowledge she learned at Saint Mary’s to her success.

Living a Balanced Life

Life after Saint Mary’s has been anything but a walk in the park for Steph, but she said her four years here taught her all about balance.
