Saint Mary's partners with Notre Dame's Dining Services to provide the best nutrition and expanded options within the tri-campus community. We commit to the health of our community every day by diversifying the nutritional profiles of our menus to accommodate a variety of needs and preferences. See for yourself the quality of the Saint Mary’s dining experience.

Tri-Campus Dining with Notre Dame and Holy Cross

At no additional cost, Saint Mary’s students have the option to eat at any dining hall on all three campuses. What's more, our shared Flex Points program (think of these as funds available on a debit card) allow Saint Mary's students to eat at Notre Dame's on-campus retail dining locations like Smashburger, Au Bon Pain, Starbucks, and many more. On Saint Mary's campus, Flex Points can be used at 1844 Grill and Murphy's, providing tri-campus students with convenient and flexible food options every day of the week.

Noble Family Dining Hall

The Noble Family Dining Hall is Saint Mary’s primary student meal location at Saint Mary's. Featuring carefully prepared meals to meet a variety of dietary needs, such as gluten free and plant-based diets, the dining hall is where students gather to eat, visit, make plans, and study. The Bistro offers a daily themed meal option, while a robust salad bar, grill, pizza and pasta stations offer popular weekly features that attract students to Saint Mary's from all three campuses. Nutritional Counseling

Food Allergen Icons

Whether it’s the initial transition away from home, or coping with the pressures of coursework and exams, many students benefit from individual coaching on nutrition and eating habits. Our nutrition services program director, Jocie Antonelli, is a registered dietitian whose expertise in developing nutrition strategies is matched by the relationships she develops with students as she guides them toward making more healthful choices.

Food Allergies and Other Dietary Considerations

If you have a food allergy, celiac disease, or other dietary considerations, Campus Dining at Saint Mary’s will work with you to ensure your specific needs are being met. Be assured that our managers, chefs, and leads are certified in food allergies and celiac disease. We use a labeling system that identifies the eight major allergens, and we have gluten free and other specialty products available to accommodate your needs.

To get started, please register your needs using the Food Allergy and Medical Condition Action Plan.

For nutritional advising or if you have dietary questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact Jocie Antonelli at (574) 631-0106 or jantonel@nd.edu.

* Please note that sesame is recognized as a major allergen. Campus Dining is actively beginning the process to label items that contain sesame.

**On occasion, due to supply chain issues or special chef creations, fluorescent starburst signs may be posted by an item. There will be a note indicating no food allergy or ingredient info is available. Those with food allergies or celiac disease should avoid these dishes or ask to speak with the chef for further information.

***For those with Food Allergies, Gluten, or Other Dietary Restrictions
Please be advised that any food items deep-fried have the potential to be cross contaminated with allergens and/or gluten.  We do not have dedicated fryers for each item and multiple foods may be fried in the same oil.  If you have dietary restrictions, consuming fried foods may cause an adverse reaction. If you are unsure what items are fried, please ask.

FAQs

+What are Flex Points?

Flex Points are part of your dining plan and can be used like a debit card at retail dining locations across the tri-campus community. At Saint Mary’s, Flex Points can be used at the 1844 Grill and Murphy's Cafe, as well as at all Notre Dame on-campus retail dining locations (e.g., Au Bon Pain, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, Chick-fil-A, Modern Market, Starbucks, Taco Bell and many more.)

+Can I add Flex Points to my account?

Flex points can be added twice a year, usually the week before Fall and Spring break.   Information will be sent out via email at the time of this event.

+I have food allergies or dietary restrictions for personal or religious reasons. Who can I contact about this?

Students may be out on their own for the first time, navigating the reality and seriousness of their dietary restrictions by themselves.  We want your dining experiences to be safe.  Our Campus Dining team is eager to assist students with allergies and other dietary considerations.  Please request nutritional consultation with our dietitian, Jocie Antonelli at (574) 631-0106 or jantonel@nd.edu. You can also register your needs using the Food Allergy and Medical Condition Action Plan.  Knowing in advance about dietary restrictions and allergies helps us work together to  prevent problems.

+I live off campus. Is there a meal plan for me?

A la carte pricing for the Noble Family Dining Hall, 1844 Grill, and Murphy’s is available for students who live off campus.

+Are seniors living in Opus required to buy a meal plan?

The College requires meal plans for all students living on campus. Limited plans are available.
