Don Balka
His love of math and learning in general is something his students admired.
His Story
Don Balka was a high energy, motivating, caring, and highly intelligent professor and mentor. His love of math and of learning has been passed on to each of his students. He showed us a world of math beyond SMC, and encouraged us to have a voice in our schools, our school districts, and even in NCTM as math teachers. Professor Balka is known nationally for his work in math education and proudly represented SMC in these endeavors.
