Senior Named Air Force Wing Commander, a First for College (The Observ... Saint Mary’s senior Cassandra Jerkovic, a chemistry major from LaPorte, Indiana, was named Wing Commander of the Air Force ROTC Detachment 225, marking the first time in the College’s history that a student was given this honor. The award signifies that Jerkovic has reached the highest cadet rank possible. Cross on Le Mans Tower Restored (Fox 28) While Notre Dame has the Golden Dome, Saint Mary's College has Le Mans Tower. Lightning struck the top of the cross on the iconic tower in the summer of 2006, damaging it. Wednesday, construction crews hoisted the refurbished cross back into its place of prominence. The tower is part of Le Mans Hall, which is a residence hall and where the College's administrative offices are located. It is the second oldest building on campus and was dedicated in 1926. Speaker on Trauma and Child Development Saint Mary’s College is proud to welcome Nancy Fisher, MSW, LCSW, to speak on “The Impact of Trauma on Child Development” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 6 in Stapleton Lounge of Le Mans Hall. The Center for Spirituality (CFS) at Saint Mary’s College proudly announces this year’s New Horizons Spirituality Conference titled “The Next Century of Women’s Study of Christian Spirituality.” The two-day conference, Thursday and Friday, October 25-26, is intended for an ecumenical, academic audience.
