French Minor

Develop your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the French language with a minor in French. Study basic grammar and conversation and composition and reading. Explore the identity of French-speaking peoples through courses in the history, literature, and culture of the French-speaking world. We encourage you to apply and deepen your French language skills by studying abroad.

  • MLFR 304 The Culture of the Francophone World: North American and the Caribbean 3 hours
  • MLFR 305 Advanced French Composition 3 hours
  • MLFR 306 Advanced French Conversation 3 hours

One of the following:

  • MLFR 320 French and Francophone Cinema 3 hours
  • MLFR 340 Contemporary France 3 hours
  • MLFR 497 Independent Study (when appropriate) 1–3 hours
